Why Was My Hotel Not Accepted?

There are RFP's that you automatically get every year but your property  never gets accepted.

Why is that?

  • Possibly there was no communication or rapport developed between the Sales Manager and the client or National Account Representative.
  • Possibly a need was not met.
  • Maybe They Have A Preferred Hotel They Use but are Required To Submit RFP's Each Year by their Corporate Office.
  • The Sales Manager should find out WHY the client rejects your hotel every year.
  • Don't be afraid to ask questions, you may be surprised to find out that your hotel was rejected for some stupid reason that can easily be fixed.
  • You can ask what rate the client is currently paying - but tread lightly. You may or may not get an answer, but you won't know if you don't ask.

Working an RFP can be very rewarding and educational.
